28 Years ...
On Friday (the 23rd), I celebrated 28 years of life. And what a life. I realize how blessed I am.
I have a fantastic wife who blesses my life every day. I have 2 amazing daughters who teach me things, even though they are so small. I couldn't ask for a better job. I have a great home and live in a great place. I'm healthy.
So enough sappy stuff ... here's a glimpse of the birthday celebration yesterday:
When I woke up, I found numerous "Happy 28th Birthday" notes strewn about in such a way that they associated with my morning routine — on the milk, on the cereal, on the TV, on the bathroom mirror, etc. It was a great way to start the day.
I went to work and found a couple gifts on my chair with some of my favorite things, like Dr. Pepper, Swedish Fish, and Chocolate Chip Cookes - all thanks to Mike, my cubicle neighbor.
A bit later, my girls took me to Jack in the Box and I ate an amazing Bacon Sirloin burger ... sooo good!
After getting done with work, we headed out for a dinner surprise. Turned out to be Texas Roadhouse. I've never been there, but man, was it good!
After that, we headed over to Toys 'R Us to get the long awaited dollhouse for Grace for her birthday. Then, we thought about hitting the Reel Theater ($2 movies) to see Madagascar 2, but the girls were pretty grumpy, so we headed home for some dessert:
So, we ate that delicious, homemade ice cream cake (well, a small part anyway). Then we opened gifts. I got exactly what I asked for ... a pull-up bar! It's the kind you put in a door way. It's awesome!
We also let Gracie play with her dollhouse a bit before putting the girls to bed.
What a great day! Thanks so much Katrina, for the way you made the day so special. And thanks to my family as well as all my Facebook friends who wished me Happy Birthday. Very cool!
